Planting Pride in Our Community

Ironton In Bloom’s mission is to help our city become more beautiful, vibrant, and sustainable. Each of our programs is focused on four areas of impact:

  • Beautification of Ironton with floral displays and landscaped areas.

  • Promotion of a litter-free environment to improve the look of our city.

  • Planting of trees and ground cover in our public lawns, schools, parks, etc.

  • Encouragement of community members to become involved in Planting Pride in our community.

Mission: Ironton in Bloom is committed to making our community more beautiful, sustainable, and united. We do this by planting vibrant containers in our downtown and surrounding areas, promoting and taking care of the environment, and encouraging everyone in the community to be involved. Our mission is to make our city's landscape enjoyable for all who live here and visit. We aim to create a positive change for the future while keeping the heritage of Ironton alive.

Vision: Our vision is a city where nature thrives in harmony with urban life, where every corner is alive with the colors of life and growth. We envision a community where green spaces and gardens are gathering places, inspiring a sense of pride, belonging, and environmental preservation. Together, we envision a future where today’s efforts blossom into a legacy of sustainability, leaving a lasting impact on future generations.

Our Programs

OWNERSHIP, PRIDE & TEAMWORK SPONSORSHIPS

At the heart of our efforts are the breath-taking planters, hanging baskets and pole planters that you see around the downtown areas as well as our riverfront. These beautiful displays are made possible by our Ownership, Pride & Teamwork Program (OPT) through which local businesses and individuals commit to sponsoring a container each year. What an impact these planters make to our city!

YARD OF THE MONTH RECOGNITION

Recognizing the care and dedication our citizens put into their yards is a key aspect of our organization. Through our Yard of the Month initiative, we select and spotlight exceptional residential yards, gardens and landscaped areas that not only add natural beauty but also inspire others to take pride in their surroundings. By celebrating the efforts of our fellow citizens, we create a ripple effect that spreads community spirit and encourages a shared commitment to enhancing our living spaces.

BUSINESS OF THE MONTH RECOGNITION

Our downtown area thrives when local businesses invest in their facades. We firmly believe that the exterior of a business is its first impression, and by supporting businesses in their efforts to enhance their visual appeal, we contribute to the overall vibrancy of the downtown experience. Through our Business of the Month program, we highlight businesses that go the extra mile to make our downtown an attractive destination.
